Peep Your Day Job LLC · Effective Date: August 27, 2026 · Last Updated: September 29, 2026
Plain-language summary: Peep Your Day Job is built to keep your business data on your device. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't sell your data. A few features work differently and are explained in detail below: an optional iCloud backup you control, an optional AI Assistant that either runs through Apple's own Private Cloud Compute at no extra cost or talks directly to a third-party AI provider you choose and pay for separately, Apple's speech-to-text for the mic feature, in-person card payments processed through Stripe, and a device notification token we keep on file solely to let you know when a feature like Tap to Pay becomes available. Read on for the full detail — this summary doesn't replace it.

1. Who We Are
Peep Your Day Job ("PYDJ," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application published by Peep Your Day Job LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of New York, with a mailing address at 3527 Harlem Rd., Building 2, 2nd Floor, Suite 4, Cheektowaga, NY 14225 (the "Company"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the PYDJ app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the PYDJ iOS application and any related widgets, shortcuts, or services we operate (together, the "Service").
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information You Provide
PYDJ is a business-management tool for self-employed, appointment-based service providers. To do its job, it stores the business information you choose to enter, including:
Business profile: your business name, logo, service list, pricing, and related settings.
Client information: names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, tags, and any photos you attach to a client record.
Appointments and schedule: appointment dates, times, service type, status, notes, and any free-text location you type in.
Financial records: income, tips, expenses, receipts (including photos of receipts), invoices, mileage log entries (entered manually — PYDJ does not track your location for mileage), and the figures used to produce the in-app tax and payment-breakdown estimates.
Portfolio photos: photos of your work that you choose to add to your portfolio.
Tasks and notes you create within the app.
Voice input: anything you say to the AI Assistant when you use the microphone, which is converted to text as described in Section 8.
Support communications: anything you send us directly, such as an email to our support address.
All of the above is entered by you and stored as described in Section 5. We do not require you to create an account or provide this information to a PYDJ-operated server in order to use the core features of the app.
3. Device Permissions
PYDJ requests the following iOS permissions. Each is used only for the specific purpose described, and only when you actively use the related feature.
PermissionWhat it's used forCameraTo take photos of your work for your portfolio, or a photo of a receipt to attach to an expense.MicrophoneTo capture your voice when you tap the mic in AI Assistant.Speech RecognitionTo turn that voice recording into text (see Section 8).Face IDTo unlock the app locally when App Lock is turned on in Settings. This never leaves your device.BluetoothTo connect to a supported card reader for in-person Tap to Pay transactions.Location (When In Use)Required by Apple's payment-terminal framework to enable in-person card payments via a connected card reader. PYDJ does not log, store, or use your location for any other purpose, including mileage tracking, which is entered manually.NotificationsTo show reminders you've turned on (like an end-of-day summary or an upcoming appointment), to confirm a Tap to Pay charge that finished after you left the app, and to let us notify you once when a feature like Tap to Pay becomes available on your device — see Section 9.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs) in this app. Specifically:
No advertising identifiers (IDFA) are collected, and no ads are shown.
No analytics or crash-reporting services (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics, Sentry, Mixpanel) are integrated.
We do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.
We do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you.
5. How Your Information Is Stored
PYDJ is built local-first. The business data described in Section 2 is stored directly on your device. Any API key you enter to connect a third-party AI provider (see Section 7) is stored in Apple's Keychain with hardware-backed, device-only protection (kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly) — it is never included in an iCloud or iTunes backup and never transmitted to us. We do not operate a general-purpose server that stores your business data. The narrow exceptions — the optional iCloud backup, the AI Assistant, and Stripe-based card payments — are described fully in the sections below.
6. Optional iCloud Backup
PYDJ offers an optional, user-initiated backup feature ("Back Up Now" / "Restore") available to Pro subscribers. When you use it, PYDJ writes a single backup file containing a snapshot of your data — your business profile, services and categories, clients, appointments, transactions, tasks, invoices, business logo, client photos, receipt images, and portfolio images — to your own personal iCloud Drive, inside a private storage container associated with the app.
This feature is off unless you turn it on. Nothing is backed up automatically without your action.
The backup is stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by your Apple ID and Apple's own iCloud security and privacy practices — not on a PYDJ-operated server. We do not have access to this backup file.
You can delete a backup at any time by removing it from your iCloud Drive, or by disabling iCloud Drive for this app in your device's Settings.
7. AI Assistant
The AI Assistant does not use any AI service operated by us — we never see your conversations with it regardless of which option below you use. You choose between two kinds of provider:
Apple Intelligence (free, built in)
By default, on a supported device, the AI Assistant can run on Apple's own Private Cloud Compute — no account, sign-up, or API key required. Your typed or spoken question, and any business data needed to answer it, is sent from your device to Apple's Private Cloud Compute servers to generate a response. According to Apple's own published design, Private Cloud Compute processes each request without retaining it afterward and without making it accessible to Apple, including for the purpose of improving Apple's models; we rely on Apple's own documentation of that design and have not independently audited it. Use of this option is also subject to Apple's own privacy policy.
A third-party AI provider you connect yourself ("bring your own AI")
Instead of, or in addition to, Apple Intelligence, you can connect your own account with a third-party AI provider of your choice (for example, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) by entering your own API key in Settings. Before this option can be used for the first time, the app requires you to explicitly acknowledge that your data will be shared with that provider.
Your typed or spoken question, and any business data needed to answer it (for example, relevant client names, appointment details, financial figures, or business information the assistant looks up on your behalf), is sent directly from your device to the third-party AI provider you configured — it does not pass through any server operated by us.
Your API key is stored only in your device's Keychain, as described in Section 5. We never see or store your API key or your conversations with the AI provider.
Once your data reaches that third-party provider, it is handled according to that provider's own privacy policy and terms, not this one. Providers differ in how long they retain data and whether it may be used to improve their models — we encourage you to review your chosen provider's policies, particularly if you handle sensitive client information.
You can stop this data sharing at any time by removing your API key from Settings.
Whichever option you use, you can stop using the AI Assistant entirely at any time — the rest of the app works the same without it.
8. Speech-to-Text
When you use the microphone in AI Assistant, your voice is processed using Apple's Speech Recognition framework, which in this app uses Apple's server-based transcription rather than fully on-device recognition. This means your audio is sent to Apple to be converted into text, subject to Apple's own privacy policy. The resulting text is then handled by PYDJ (and, if you send it, by your chosen AI provider) as described above.
9. Payment Processing
Subscriptions
PYDJ Pro subscriptions are billed and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We never receive or store your payment card information. Your purchase and billing information is handled under Apple's own privacy policy.
In-Person Card Payments (Tap to Pay)
If you accept in-person card payments using a connected card reader, PYDJ uses Stripe's Terminal SDK and Stripe Connect to process the transaction. In connection with this feature:
We operate a minimal backend server used only to (a) facilitate your Stripe Connect account onboarding, which involves your email address, and (b) relay the charge amount and description for a transaction to Stripe so it can be processed.
This backend never receives your customers' full card numbers, your bank account or routing numbers, or Social Security/Tax ID numbers — those are collected and handled directly by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor, under Stripe's own privacy policy and Connected Account Agreement.
We retain the limited information that passes through our backend (your email and transaction metadata) only for as long as necessary to facilitate your payments, comply with applicable law, and resolve disputes.
Push Notification Token (Tap to Pay Availability)
If you allow notifications, PYDJ registers your device for push notifications with Apple and sends the resulting device token — an opaque identifier Apple generates for this purpose, not your name or any business data — to our backend. We use it for exactly one thing: to send you a single, one-time notification if you haven't already set it up, letting you know that Tap to Pay is available. We do not use this token for advertising, analytics, or any other kind of messaging, and we do not share it with anyone other than Apple, which is necessarily involved in delivering any push notification. You can prevent this by declining or turning off notification permission for PYDJ in your device's Settings.
10. Location & Bluetooth
Location and Bluetooth permissions exist solely to support connecting to and operating a supported card reader for in-person payments, as required by Apple's payment-terminal framework. PYDJ does not use GPS or location services for any other feature — mileage entries are typed in manually, and no location history is collected, stored, or shared.
11. No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for money or other valuable consideration, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To the extent California, Virginia, Colorado, or other state privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, we do not engage in either.
12. Data Retention & Deletion
Business data you enter lives on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete it within the app (for example, deleting a client or appointment, or using an in-app export/delete option where available).
Deleting the app from your device removes its locally stored data, subject to standard iOS deletion behavior.
An iCloud backup persists in your personal iCloud account until you delete it yourself, as described in Section 6.
Limited data held by our payment backend (Section 9) is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described there, or as required by law (for example, financial recordkeeping obligations related to payment processing).
13. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to know what information we have, request its deletion, correct inaccuracies, obtain a copy, or object to certain processing. Because the large majority of your data never reaches us in the first place — it stays on your device — most of these rights are exercised directly within the app (viewing, editing, exporting, or deleting your own records). For anything held by our payment backend (Section 9), you can exercise these rights by contacting us at joe@peepyourdayjob.app. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
14. Children's Privacy
PYDJ is a business tool intended for adult, self-employed service providers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us information through our payment backend, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including hardware-backed Keychain storage for API keys, encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for any network requests our backend makes, and optional Face ID/Touch ID app-lock protection that never leaves your device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. International Users
Our Company is based in the United States. If you use PYDJ from outside the United States, be aware that any information that does leave your device — such as data sent to Apple, your chosen AI provider, or Stripe as described above — may be processed in the United States or other countries where those companies operate, which may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
